Client Testimonials

“Noah Hayden is a wonderful coach—caring, kind, knowledgeable, fun, and safe.  I trust him completely with programming.  When a lifter has a problem, he always comes up with a unique solution.  He built special handles for a lifter who needed a safety bar when traveling.  Although he wasn't my regular coach, I lifted in the same gym as Noah and he would often add comments and explanations that helped me in my workouts.  When my regular coach wasn't available, I really enjoyed sessions with Noah, always coming away having learned something new and useful.

I would travel far for the opportunity to train under Noah's guidance. I can't say enough good things about him. Trust me. Or call me for more details.”

“Feeling weak and unsteady? Recovering from a head-on collision and subsequent surgery left me bedridden for months and in a very weakened state. Months of physical therapy helped with walking again and moving upright but then physical therapy sessions were cut off. Still weak, unstable, and fearful of falling, I searched for a gym that was sympathetic to the older and sometimes broken individual.

I found Noah and he helped me find strength again. Not just a little strength, but whole body strength. The kind of strength that goes beyond physical strength; confidence to move throughout each day and complete tasks that involve reaching upward, crouching down and carrying things without the fear of falling. That is priceless.

Life happens and our bodies deteriorate but barbell training can help restore the ability to live a life fully lived, without fear.”

“I searched for two years to find an expert personal trainer who had been trained to work with and understand the unique physical challenges of aging seniors.  I found Noah Hayden.  I needed to improve my fitness as I age to allow me to travel and enjoy the fruits of my years of labor without hurting myself.  Through weight training sessions with Noah and his meticulous attention to my form for three years, I successfully overcame a shoulder impingement, recovered from a total hip replacement, and strengthened my knees using weight training.  Noah’s expert guidance was directly responsible for me meeting my goals of improved bone density, enhanced balance and mobility, and increased strength, as confirmed by my doctor. Noah comes with my highest recommendation to other seniors with similar goals.”

“After my 2019 back surgery, I never thought I’d lift anything ever again. Thanks to Noah, my back has never felt better. He helped me learn and maintain proper form in my lifts, and I appreciated discussing guitar and also the lacrosse ball trick he showed me for un-tweaking my back. I’ve continued with powerlifting, and at 64 years old, my posture and back have never been better!”

Dan S., 64

“Noah was the first barbell coach I ever hired; I can’t imagine how I could ever hire a better one.

He is supremely knowledgeable, perceptive, a technical virtuoso, an all-around good and very interesting guy, and without question the person you want on the platform with you if you progress to lifting significantly challenging weights and you want that activity to always be fun while also being the hardest thing you’ll ever do. Noah will guide you to that happy place and you’ll get there as safely as you possibly can.

With Noah’s help and guidance, my barbell training has become the most difficult, and the most enjoyable activity in my life. The benefits have been immeasurable: physically, mentally, and emotionally.  He defines what an excellent coach should be. Full stop.”

“I have known Coach Noah Hayden since 2018. He is an experienced and confident coach, and you will be in safe care under his supervision. I appreciate his attention to minute detail and making safety while lifting a priority. He is an attentive coach, reflective, and always observant.

Coach Noah treats each client individually (no cookie-cutter approach) and is dialed into their strengths and challenges. Noah is flexible and will modify your training if you are healing from surgery/injury while living life outside the gym. He has an excellent understanding of biomechanics and how different anthropometry applies to the movement of the barbell.

Coach Noah's extensive knowledge of programming enables clients to achieve their goals. Noah is a lifelong learner, current with research on lifting, nutrition, aging, and health in general, sharing this knowledge to the benefit of his clients. As an older female lifter, I feel safe under the bar with Noah coaching me.”

“In my late 50s, I was searching for a meaningful exercise routine that would help me to age more confidently. My daughter recommended strength training, something she found to be very beneficial both physically and mentally. I initially balked at the idea since my point of reference was watching people much younger than myself lifting weights that no person my age would do without getting injured.

The more I thought about it, the more curious I became. Was there a coach who was willing to work with older adults looking to weight train for the first time in their lives? This is how I met Noah Hayden. Not only was he willing to train older adults, but he specialized in working with my age group. At first, I was very self-conscious about my ability to succeed in an activity I felt I had little business being involved in at my age. But with Noah’s encouragement, I began to relax.

Each session I attended became more enjoyable and enlightening. Noah’s ability to evaluate my form and correct issues was impressive. Not only did he have an eye for detail, but he was able to clearly explain the reason behind each correction and how it would improve my performance. Pretty soon, I began to feel stronger and more confident. I acquired a clear understanding of each exercise and the positive effects it was having on my body.

The sign of an excellent coach is one that not only encourages their clients but can educate them as well. I always left our sessions feeling successful and more informed on exactly how I performed that day. Noah’s vast knowledge of the human body and how barbell training contributes to a positive aging experience was impressive. I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to be coached by someone of his caliber.”

“Barbell training has been the best thing I have ever done for myself. It’s been a pleasure and a privilege to have Noah as my coach.

Noah was meant to teach others. His knowledge, expertise, kindness, and patience are what made this journey such a joy. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you have done to help me.”

“I used to be pretty active, but work, the pandemic, and a lack of a regular exercise routine had turned my 55 year old life more sedentary than ever. My energy levels dipped significantly, and I started feeling the aches and stiffness of a more inactive lifestyle. While I had no major health concerns, I knew I needed a change.

I hadn’t touched a weight machine since high school in the early 1980s. After my first consult visit, I knew I was in the right place and signed up immediately. From the first training session I could tell I was in the right place. Noah’s approach meshed well with my personality and he explained what to do in the appropriate amount of detail so I understood what was expected. The explanations did not feel rushed or routine and my questions were always answered.

I walked into the gym with a very narrow focus about learning proper technique for lifting but quickly found much more from Noah on how breathing, sleep, nutrition, etc. all affect the lifting. His plans kept me appropriately challenged and he gave me confidence that I could lift what he had programmed.

Noah’s eagle eye would catch any minor form deviations and offer immediate and appropriate corrections, preventing potential injuries and ensuring I maximized each lift. Thanks to his guidance and motivation, all of my lifts increased but more importantly, I feel strong in the gym and confident that I am lifting with proper form to avoid injury.

Without reservation, I wholeheartedly recommend Noah Hayden as a coach and am confident he will accelerate your growth on the platform.”

Jeff B., 58

“Noah is a very skilled coach and especially good with older lifters. I am currently 58 and have never had any formal strength training of any kind. Like many people, I had tried training myself using various online programs. Two years ago, I was trying to train using barbells and had mediocre success.

After training with Noah, that all changed. Noah’s extensive knowledge and experience in adapting a strength program to specifically address the needs of each individual has made all of the difference, and there is quantitative evidence to prove it.

With his guidance, I am now lifting the following:
Squat: 375lb x 5 (a 150lb improvement)
Deadlift: 400lb x 5 (a 150lb improvement)
Press: 155lb x 3 (a 60b improvement)
Bench Press: 225lb x 3 (a 90lb improvement)

I am still steadily improving on these numbers and, thanks to Noah, I am now on a path to be a lifter for the rest of my life. Thank you, Noah!”

Tim K., 58

“I’ve never had a coach before. Since taking a chance on Noah, it has been over a year since I’ve started barbell training and things just keep getting better and better.  It has turned back the clock, and given me back my endurance, balance, sleep, and my best health results in years.  My blood glucose, cholesterol numbers, and blood pressure have all improved, as well as my bone density. Goodbye, osteoporosis!

Not bad for a retired 66-year-old librarian! I wish I would have started this at age 56, not 65. Try it!  You’ll FEEL stronger and be in better health.  And isn’t that what we all want in retirement?”
